Distinctive elements of our educational project
The Agora Princess Margaret International School Education Project is defined by five distinctive elements: the International Baccalaureate as a model for the future, multilingualism, STEAM, sport and the commitment to provide our students with the tools to grow as global citizens capable of changing the world.
IB: A model for the future
Agora Princess Margaret International School is an IB school. It forms part of the group of schools recognised worldwide by the International Baccalaureate as offering the PYP (Primary Years Programme). Since December 2019, Agora Princess Margaret International School has also been one of the schools authorised to teach the MYP (Middle Years Programme). Agora Princess Margaret International School was the first school in Barcelona to obtain official MYP certification.
Multilingualism
We prepare our students for an international future. We offer a multilingual curriculum with linguistic immersion, We have the Cambridge programme for official qualifications from 2nd Primary to 4th ESO, the Phonics Programme, a programme of synthetic phonetics from 3 years old to 3rd Primary. To complement our school-based language programme, students are invited to participate in international events, exchanges and trips to a variety of overseas destinations.
STEAM: Science and Arts
Art and Science through STEAM abilities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) is a teaching approach that encourages group work and the integration of highly related skills. These five competencies are the key to the integral development of children since they provide enormous cognitive and personal benefits and enhance their communication skills.
Sport, Health and Fitness
We promote the values implicit in participating in sporting activity, such as self-discipline, determination, a sense of fair-play and team spirit. At Agora Princess Margaret International School we have a passion for sport and encourage our pupils to embrace healthy habits, enjoy an active lifestyle and to work towards long-term emotional and physical balance.
Shaping the world
Children entering education today will graduate as young adults in 2045. Our mission is to prepare them for jobs that have not yet been created, for technologies that have not yet been invented, and to solve problems that have not yet been anticipated. We must encourage our young people to embrace and shape their own futures and to understand that they form part of a wider international community and are capable of shaping the world.
We provide our students with the tools to grow as global citizens capable of shaping the world.
