How Learning in English Opens the Door to Future Opportunities

It is undeniable that bilingual education is one of the most valuable investments families can make in their children’s future. The advantages of learning a second language from an early age are numerous, especially when that language is English — a language that plays a central role in global communication, higher education and the international labour market. For this reason, choosing an international school where English is the main language of learning is often a strategic decision for families. Students who grow up in multilingual environments develop stronger academic, cultural and professional skills, which ultimately leads to greater opportunities in the future.

At Agora Princess Margaret International School, we offer a bilingual education based on the British curriculum. Alongside Spain’s two co-official languages, English acts as a key language of learning and a powerful tool for opening new doors for our students. Discover how learning English at school can shape a brighter academic and professional future.

Advantages of learning in English from an early age

Learning English brings countless benefits. However, when students begin studying the language from an early age, these advantages become even more significant. Today, English is practically essential for living, communicating and developing professionally in an increasingly globalised world. Beyond globalisation itself, fields such as innovation, technology and science have also adopted English as a universal language for collaboration and knowledge exchange. Let us look at some of the most important benefits that studying in English offers students.

Greater access to national & international universities

A bilingual education that introduces English from early childhood significantly increases students’ chances of accessing prestigious national & international universities, where English is often a key requirement. Students who grow up in bilingual or multilingual learning environments tend to arrive at university better prepared academically and personally. They often demonstrate stronger independence, critical thinking and adaptability. These students are typically more open-minded, responsible and future-oriented, capable of navigating global academic environments with confidence.

Better career opportunities in the future

Another important advantage of mastering English is its strong value in the international job market. Proficiency in English often leads to greater access to professional opportunities, participation in international projects and the ability to work within global organisations. Students who study in international educational environments also develop essential skills that help them stand out in an increasingly competitive professional world. These include intercultural communication, problem-solving abilities, flexibility, tolerance and the capacity to collaborate with people from different cultural backgrounds.

Bilingual Education at Agora Princess Margaret

How is English promoted at Agora Princess Margaret?

At Agora Princess Margaret International School, we go beyond traditional bilingual education by fostering multilingual learning in a communicative and personalised environment. Language immersion begins from the earliest stages of education, starting in Early Years. As proud members of the Globeducate network, we fully embrace the philosophy of its global initiative “Shaping the World”, which aims to educate responsible and engaged global citizens capable of shaping a better future. Within this educational vision, English plays a fundamental role in preparing students for academic success and global opportunities.

Language immersion from the very first day

At Agora Princess Margaret, students experience full linguistic immersion from their first day at school. From Early Years (ages 3–6), children begin a 100% English immersion programme, allowing them to develop natural exposure and familiarity with the language. During Primary and Secondary stages, the school’s linguistic project ensures a balanced distribution of languages. Approximately 50% of subjects are taught in English, 25% in Spanish and another 25% in Catalan. This balanced multilingual system ensures that students develop strong vocabulary, comprehension and communication skills in all three languages.

Native teachers and innovative methodologies

The teaching staff — highly qualified and largely native English speakers — play a key role in this educational model. Teachers not only master the language but are also trained in innovative methodologies such as Project-Based Learning (PBL) and personalised learning approaches that place the student at the centre of the educational process.

Each teacher supports students in their holistic development, from phonetics, reading and writing in English — including programmes such as Read Write Inc. Phonics — to preparation for internationally recognised qualifications such as Cambridge certifications.

Thanks to this educational approach, students at Agora Princess Margaret achieve fluency in English and other languages while also developing confidence, independence and a global perspective. By the time they reach Secondary Education, students are well prepared to face real challenges in international environments. Early immersion in English gives them a clear advantage when adapting to new contexts, communicating across cultures and collaborating with people from different backgrounds.

In short, at Agora Princess Margaret International School we offer more than bilingual education. We provide an educational journey that opens doors to the future and prepares students to become responsible, capable and confident global citizens.
